Robot Creator Description Final Paper Other Files

Zircon
Wiley Ammons Zircon detects the studs behind sheetrock or block walls and marks the floor next to them. Useful for contruction when modifications need to be made to a room with walls already built. Zircon

D.U.I.
Bruno Barreyra D.U.I.

Mr. T
Jeffrey Bergman Mr. T is a autonomous trebuchet built to hurl objects long distances and knock down a castle. Mr. T

A.J.
Lesley Boylston Albert Junior moves around looking for objects. When he finds them he detects what color they are based on a calibration routine run at startup. If the object is orange or blue, he wags his tail. If it is red or yellow he moves forward attacking. Otherwise, he backs up and continues searching. A.J. (Albert Jr.)

Spiderman
Daniel Brickman Spiderman is an autonoumous wall climber. THe robot will expand to fit in the space between two walls. He uses two HC11's two control 8 servos through output compare, monitor 11 sensors using A/D, and monitor two other sensors using input capture. Spiderman

Oscar
Ernesto Cividanes OSCAR (One Smart Car, an Autonomous Robot) is am Anthrax and heat detecting robot that uses 4 IR's for obstacle avoidance, 3 CdS cells to find the brightest spot in the room, 1 smoke detector to ionize the electrically neutral anthrax and detect that ionized air, and a heat detector to find anthrax incubators. OSCAR uses the "Shifter" from Radio Shack as its platform to make it a challenging but fun robot. Oscar

Pele II
Karina Da Costa Soccer-playing robot that collects a ball, aligns itself and shoots, then celebrates!x Pele II

Robeats
Brett Dennison RoBeats is a Barcode reading robot that plays warzone sounds when scanning a barcode. Robeats

Dave
Rande Enderby Dave preforms obstacle avoidance then takes a pattern drawn on a computer, and burns that on a chalk board using a CO2 laser. Dave

Golfing Buddy Movies
Jonathan Gamoneda The lil Golfing is robot that will look for a tee in a small enclosed area and then attempt to place a golf ball on top of it. It will then back up and listen for the ball being hit. After it hears it, it will attempt to place another ball on top of the tee. Golfing Buddy

RoboWoods
Kahlil Khan RoboWoods

Towbot
Scott Kivitz In light of recent events, automating airport baggage handling has tragically become a necessity. By eliminating baggage handling personnel, a human can be spared the tedious job of transporting baggage cars to and from the terminal. Towbot is the answer to this problem. As an autonomous mobile agent, Towbot is capable of performing a useful task for the airline industry. Towbot

Lil Helper
Jennifer Labush Lil Helper

Sicherheitssuberprufung
Matthew Lysaught My robot was originally intended to be a security robot, but can only recharge itself. Sicherheitssuberprufung

Flame/Smurf
Patrick McGinley FLAME and SMURF are coordinated firefighting robots. FLAME is a large K6/2-550 processor-based robot with a machine vision system, designed to locate a particular color. SMURF is a small firefighting, fleet prototype robot based on the 68HC11 that extinguishes small fires. Flame and Smurf

Scout
Charles Parks Scout was designed to be an autonomous mapping robot. Scout in its current state can be considered an unfinished project. Scout can communicate with its compass but not its optical mouse. I am still hopeful that I will be able to interface my mouse eventually and rectify the problems I am having my compass. This report contains a lot of useful information about interfacing a mouse as well as the code that was written for scout. Scout

Run N Shoot
David Pinto Locates a user-selected object using vision. After the object is aquired a user-selected target is located and the ball is shot towards the target. All software was written in Java and communication between robot and desktop is wireless. Run-N-Shoot

ARTSS
Santiago Ruiz ARTSS is meant to act as a co-pilot to the driver. He assists in increasing traction to the rear wheels by applying more down-force to the rear of the car. This will increase the level of frictional force that is opposing the tendency of the car to slide during high-speed turning situations and braking. This is achieved through an adjustable spoiler system, that senses the amount of force being applied by the airflow across the surface of the wing. He can also monitor speed so that the adjustments are made at speeds where there would actually be enough airflow to affect the down-force. ARTSS can increase the safety as well as the performance of rear-wheel-drive cars. ARTSS

Obot-ray
Alex Silverman Obot-ray is an autonomous laser tag playing robot, based on the Talrik platform. It uses digital IR detection to locate the opponent, and a CDS cell to detect hits. Obot-ray

Gusano
Christian Yanes Gusano likes to play with a special ball. He will search for the ball, if he finds it, he will be very happy and will spin a couple of times, then toss the ball in the air. Then he will search for it again. Gusano
