Keeping a watchful eye...

This is one of several cannons at the fort in the center of Macau, which has protected the city since it's establishment as a Portuguese colony. Some of the cannons still point across the bay towards China (below). The Chinese Special Economic Zone to the north of Macau looks decidedly more modern than Macau itself.
