Coin Frog (COin IN Fountain RObotic Gatherer) collects coins located on the floor of a fountain. The coins are placed into a removable bin that is emptied periodically by a supervisor.

AVC

 

Joshua Childs

The AVC (Air Vehicle Controller) is a controller for a variety or aircraft. For the initial demonstrations, AVC is used with a fixed wing aircraft. AVC will later be used with a quad-rotor aircraft. For the demonstration, the aircraft will autonomous follow a predetermined path of GPS way points.

Woody

Tim Martin

Woody is a flame seeking robot. He uses a WiiMote to find fire. Woody has the ability to vocalize with spoken word/music and will respond to verbal commands.

GAPA

 

Jared Bevis

The Gator Aider Parking Attendant (GAPA) will patrol a small parking lot in search of illegally parked vehicles. Illegal vehicles (those not orange or blue) will be crushed and removed from their parking places.

Shoot 'Em Up is a ball-launching robot that will play the game of Beer Pong. Shoot 'Em Up will determine to its target (red plastic solo cups), orient himself properly, and then shoot a ping pong ball into one of the cups.

Moishe Groger

Driving Miss Daisy (DMD) is an autonomous robot that is capable transporting a physically challenged person throughout a building. The user will be able to sip or puff into a small hose to select destination and other DMD options.

Danny Ocean can slip past the eyes of security guards and steal an emerald without detection.

Dachong

 

Bo Liu

Dachong (big bug) has six-legs; each connected pairs of legs are driven with two actuators. Dachong's typical behavior will be to avoid obstacles, sense the ambient light intensity and move to the brightest spot in the room, and level itself on a tilted surface.

Gossima (one of the original names given for the game of ping-pong) is an autonomous ping-pong ball-collecting robot. Gossima will retrieve and unload ping-pong balls while avoiding obstacles.

PVC plays handball. He will move around in search of a ball, pick up the ball, search for the opposing team's goal, and then shoot the ball through the goal.

Thirst Quencher will retrieve a beverage from a soda machine and bring it to the operator. The robot searches for the nearest soda machine, inserts the correct change, and chooses a beverage from the listed options. He then retrieves the drink from the dispensing port and returns to the operator.
