Robot Creator Description Final Paper
MILee
Paul Dutka MILee is a Miniature Line Following and Obstacle Avoidance Robot. MILee can navigate along some path (defined by a black line on a white background) all while avoiding obstacles through range finding and bump sensors. This little robot can also communicate wirelessly (through bluetooth) to a PC, receiving commands when necessary (i.e. debugging) and updating various statistics about its sensors and actuators. Final Report More Info
TRON
Dima Haddad TRON: Transportation Regulation Obedient Newbie. Tron will drive on a simulated roadway and accurately react to traffic signals. Two solid lines (much like a lane on a roadway) will designate the road. Tron will avoid collision with other vehicles or objects on the road, and discern between the red, yellow, and green phase of a traffic signal and behave as a real world driver to those phases. Final Report
Special Sensor
RoboShaq
Chris Heagney RoboShaQ is an autonomous, land based robot platform capable of shooting a free throw basket with the same skill as the famous pro basketball player Shaquille O'Neal. It will move up to and detect the free throw line, measure distance to the basket, calculate desired trajectory, and catapult a nerf ball into a basket. Final Report
Special Sensor
T-1001
Fernando Hernandez T-1001 is an intelligent war robot, similar in function to the T-1000 unit in the movie "Terminator 2." While not composed of liquid metal, this robot will still be capable of a few cool tricks. (I technically can make it into a liquid metal robot, but that kinda burns all the components, and that's a no-no.) Final Report

Mr. 2-Bots
Michael Knapp The retirement of one the UF's favorite cheer leaders, Mr. 2-Bits, has led to an autonomous replacement, aptly named Mr. 2-Bots. The motivation for Mr. 2-Bots is to please the crowd and bring attention to the UF's engineering program. A robust sensor suite, including a GPS receiver, will allow the system to be moved to a different platform, such as a blimp, in the future. In his current form Mr. 2-Bots navigates a series of GPS waypoints. At each successive waypoint he plays the next portion of Mr. 2-Bit's cheer: "2-Bits," "4-Bits," "6-Bits," "a dollar," "all for the Gators, stand up and holler!" Final Report
Special Sensor
Elray
Wai Ping Lau Elray is a robot that loves to love. He will love and follow anyone in the area but he can only love one person at a time. You can consider Elray a pet but he is really a love machine. Final Report
Special Sensor
NaviGator
Jonathan Mau NaviGator is a robot equiped with a Guide/Follow System (GFS) to allow him to follow a remote controlled car at a certain speed. The ultimate goal is to implement the same idea in real cars during a traffic jam. The system is to alleviate the frustration of the driver by allowing him to relax and not have to worry about driving bumper to bumper constantly. Final Report
Special Sensor
Bi-Mode
Joel Padilla Bi-Mode is a robot suffering from an identity crisis. Sometimes it is in a good mood, and other times he is just downright vicious – you just never know. Bi-Mode models nature’s predator-prey behavior in today’s synthetic ecosystem. It’s a matter of “survival of the fittest.” There are NO RULES, and there is NO COMPROMISE. Final Report
Special Sensor
FIRE
Natthapol Prakongpan FIRE will find and put out fires. Final Report
Special Sensor
SnackBot
Chris Shepherd SnackBot will go to the kitchen and fetch a snack or drink that you select through remote control commands. It will return this snack or drink to you at the couch. Final Report
Special Sensor
Teresa
Blake Sutton TERESA (Tyrannous Effeminate Rambling Esoteric Sybaritic Arthopod) is a six-legged walking robot with three servos and a happy disposition. She will seek out people to play with using her pyroelectric sensor, while avoiding obstacles with her ultrasound ranger. Like a typical human, her actions are ruled by her relatively fickle moods. Final Report
Special Sensor
JamesBot
Wassim Tawil JamesBot is a voice activated spying robot. "Call me Bot ... JamesBot." Final Report
Special Sensor
Automated Dog Walker
Rajesh Verma The Automated Dog Walker will do exactly that, walk the dog so you don't have to! Final Report
