- The
Spring 2026
syllabus (R2)
is now available.
- Our 3701 class starts on Tues, 13 Jan.
Class attendance (in person) is required!
- Our class will be an entirely synchronous and face-to-face course.
This means that your lectures and labs will occur at the times specified
when you registered. Nothing will be Zoomed this semester, other than
our practicals and exams (and some office hours).
- The starting date for our labs is Mon, 26 Jan. There will be no labs
until then. Labs are all face-to-face, i.e., in person.
- You can share, borrow, buy, or rent your textbook. I spent
some time on Dec 17th finding (updated soon)
different sources and prices.
- You will need to purchase various items for our class that ARE NOT
included with the lab fees. More information about this is available
in the syllabus.
- You will be supplied with a DE10-Lite PLD device and, if needed,
a Digilent Analog Discovery (DAD). The DAD is used in our course and
many other is both EE and CpE. Everyone will return their DE10-Lite
at the end of their Lab 7 demo. EE and CpE students will return their
DAD at the end of their last undergraduate EE or CpE course at UF; others will at the end of their Lab 7 demo.
- I sent a VERY IMPORTANT email (updated) on December 17th that you can view
here.
- HW 0 (R0)
is
due (through
Canvas)
on Fri, 16 Jan, by 10:59pm
(but I recommend 10:00pm).
You will NOT be admitted to
Lab 0 without completing this homework.
Topic: Syllabus & getting started.
- Lab 0 (R0) dates are
Mon-Fri, 26-30 Jan. You will need to install
some software on your laptop computer before your lab
and purchase several components.
- HW Honorlock Practice with file Upload (R0)
is due on Wed, 21 Jan, by 10:59pm.
Topic: Honorlock Practice with file Upload.
- Watch Honorlock: Proper Room Scan.
- The UF Academic Resources
has some study skills videos available
here.
A link to setup an appointment for Study Skills is available
here.
- Email sent to Dr. Schwartz or a PI/TA
without 3701 and
a meaningful subject in the subject field will be ignored.
- Comments
from recent students, most now in industry.
- Lessons on Life
